Visiting Standard Process's Organic Farm

A First Hand Experience of an Organic Supplement Company

When I started Chiropractic School in 1999 I discovered the importance of nutrition and it’s role in health and healing.  Early in my practice as a chiropractor I was invited to a seminar hosted by a local doctor discussing calcium’s role in the body.  It was at this event that I learned about Standard Process products.  This began a journey into trying to understand the vast and complicated field of nutrition.

Over the years I have gone to various seminars, listened to audio books and taken webinars about the Standard Process products.   Since I was introduced to Standard Process Products I had heard other doctors talk about the organic farm in Wisconsin.  Many have remarked that it was a trip that inspired them.  I was honored to be invited to a complimentary seminar at the farm.

My trip to Standard Process was an amazing experience.  Christine, the farm manager started our day at SP with a tour of the 450 acre organic farm. As Christine spoke about the importance of proper vitamin rich soil when growing organic, you could see and hear her passion for organic vegetables.  Once harvested the vegetables are placed in a big dehydrator.  The veggies are slowly dried to keep all the vital nutrients enact.  After dried they are ground into a powder and shipped about 2 blocks away to the manufacturing facility.  The SP manufacturing facility is a state of the art facility.  Dr. Royal Lee, founder of SP created much of the technology that they still use today for the tablet and capsule production.  Standard Process has a deep commitment to quality care.  This is seen not only in the products that they produce but in the way they care for their employees.  SP has a on site day care, healthy vending options, a gym and 3 chiropractors on staff to take care of their employees.

My trip to SP deepened my appreciation for the products that they make.  I am confident in their products and the quality of the nutritional supplements.  This is especially important to be with the recent FDA findings on some of the largest supplement companies.
